Glad you liked it. i *almost* played “ruthie’s knocking” by Throwing Muses, but couldn’t find it quickly enough. : )
if yr looking for musical timekills while there’s no DJ at KSCU or wherever else you could always take a listen to my podcast. i’m about to relaunch it after taking waaaay too many months off, but it’s accessible at http://podcast.glitchedmedia.com you can subscribe in iTunes or whatever using http://podcast.glitchedmedia.com/podcast.rss

that’ll kill about 30 hours of yr free time.

thanks again for the call / compliments. it’s always nice to hear that someone digs what i’m playing.

    thanks!

i occasionally get the feeling that i’m doing a bit of clinging to the past, but i seem to have adopted the motto “those who ignore the past are doomed to forget it” and i think that justifies a little bit of clinging. hehehe.

Dude. You’re taste in music is fantastic. Calvin Johnson is one of my all-time favorite voices.

thanks! he’s one of mine too. i remember when i first saw a picture of him and was all “THAT voice comes out of that face?!?”. heheh. one of my favorite shows was a Calvin Johnson / Mark Robinson / Richard Baluyut tour ’round 2002 (i think). I’m pretty sure I remember Calvin improvising a backing vocal when mark played Make Out Club…

You played a song around 8am today, Oct. 19, sounded a little like the Smith’s or Morrissey. The hook was something like, want to buy you something but I have no money. …i can’t figure it out from your playlist. Please, thank you…

Hi, Just wanted to leave an appreciative note. Your musical taste is great (i.e., it seems to be about the same as mine). I always enjoy your show — nice mix of a lot of my old favorites, as well as stuff I’ve never heard before.
